The contents of this Associate Handbook summarize present The Piper programs, policies and procedures and are presented as guidelines for Associates. Associates should be aware that from time to time these policies, except for the policy of at-will employment, may be amended, or revoked at any time at the sole discretion of The Piper. Depending upon the circumstances of a given situation, the Company’s actions may vary from the written policy. As such, the contents of this Associate Handbook do not constitute the terms and conditions of a contract of employment.
Nothing contained in this handbook nor any other communication by Company Management can or should be construed as a guarantee of continued employment. No manager, team leader, or Associate of the Company has the authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specified period of time or to enter into any agreement or contract for employment. Only the Chief Executive Officer has the authority to enter into any employment contract, and no such contract will be effective unless it is in writing and signed by the Chief Executive Officer. All employment is at-will. This means that the employment relationship may be terminated at any time by either the Company or the associate with or without cause or notice. Any statement to the contrary is invalid and should not be relied upon by any prospective or existing associate.
I have received a copy of the Associate Handbook. I realize it is my responsibility to familiarize myself with its contents. I also understand that my Human Resources representative will answer any questions I have about this handbook.
I agree to abide by the policies of this facility and the laws of this state as they pertain to abuse and neglect of patients. I realize that participation in abuse or neglect of residents or failure to report such incidents, of which I have knowledge, may result in my termination and civil and/or criminal charges. I understand that I will not be suspended, terminated, or discriminated against for reporting abuse and neglect.
