EMPLOYMENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES
Associate Work Commitment
In accepting employment with The Piper, associates assume certain duties, responsibilities and relationships, which are to be observed in fulfilling the requirements of their positions. Your personal and professional conduct directly reflects the quality of service that can be expected from our organization. It is your responsibility to perform job functions according to the highest ethical standards. You are expected to use the mission, values, philosophy, policies and procedures of The Piper as guidelines for the performance of your duties. In addition to those items reflected in their job descriptions, all Associates are expected to observe the following:
1. To work conscientiously toward achieving the goals and objectives of The Piper in keeping with its philosophy, mission, policies and procedures.
2. To support the concepts of resident directed life, recognizing this philosophy is the centerpiece of The Piper’s commitment to quality. To grow one’s knowledge and skills in quality of care and quality of life, and to strive to work within team approaches to achieve these desired outcomes.
3. To perform one’s duties and responsibilities at a high level of quality, accuracy, efficiency, integrity, and effectiveness. To seek cross-training to further one’s capacity to serve.
4. To work cooperatively with other associates and residents. To respect their opinions, views and actions as individuals and to use appropriate behaviors and/or channels to resolve differences.
5. To be punctual and to plan assigned duties to achieve effective and productive use of time. To request and use leave with respect for others’ schedules and needs and in keeping with requirements of policies and procedures.
6. To respect the privacy of the people served by The Piper and to use information gained in relationship with them in a responsible manner. To keep and hold confidential all information in accordance with The Piper policies, especially information regarding residents.
7. To be responsive to the guidance, directions, and coaching of The Piper leadership.
8. To speak publicly only as an individual, except when designated to speak as a representative of
The Piper.
9. To be constantly mindful of the obligation The Piper and its associates have for the welfare and care of the residents served by The Piper.
10. To maintain an appearance and attitude towards residents and the public that is consistent with high business and professional standards.
