Bandung. Even the newspaper was printed as many as 2000 copies and

was included in large quantities at the time.

                 3. Where

Where the printing press was first used ?

The idea of the birth of the printing press originated from a simple system

found in China and Korea around 175 AD. In those days there were
already prints of wood and bronze that were inked and affixed to paper.
Since then, print products have become widely known until they were
refined around 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg, a German citizen. It is said
that Gutenberg was working as a goldsmith in Mainz at the time, and while

he was making a letter of support came up with the idea of making a
printing press. At that time books and letters were written in handwriting
and there were many errors and it took a long time for the copying process.

                 4. When

When the printing press first entered in Indonesia ?

Based on the results of research shows that in 1659 it entered the first
printing goods named Almanak Tijdboek. It is thought that around the 17th

century Nederland was interested in opening a printing business in
Indonesia, namely Jakarta. In 1619 DKI Jakarta became the center of
government during the VOC period. The first printer and publisher then
opened a business in Jakarta and acted as a subcontractor for the local
VOC office. Then in 1677 the printing press printed a dictionary of

Dutch-Malay materials, and in 1963 printed a new testament book made
in Portuguese or referred to as East Asia at the time.
