Pipeline Identification
The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 have made it a
legal requirement that employers mark and identify hazardous materials in visible
pipework.
The background colours of our pipe markers and tapes all conform to the
recommendations speci ed in BS 1710 1984 Identi cation of Pipelines and Services,
as shown below.

Supplied in packs of 5, our markers have arrowheads at either end to indicate the direction of ow,
simply cut o the unneeded arrow and apply marker to the pipe with the arrow pointing in the
direction of the ow.
All our markers are manufactured on a highly durable, self adhesive Polyester lm, which is then
laminated with clear Polyester. This makes it extremely resistant to scratching, chemicals and
solvents as well as extremes of temperature.
