Phoenix SAR Chapter Featured in Newspaper Article Regarding Flag Certificates
Phoenix SAR Chapter Compatriots Jerry Davis and Steve Miller were featured in the Arcadian News newspaper for their efforts to honor Arcadia residents who have pride for the American flag.
Compatriot Davis is the only SAR member who is a resident of the Arcadia neighborhood and he was out honoring local resident John Torrez., a U.S.Army Veteran Torrez who shares his patriotic pride and treats the American flag accordingly.
Davis and Miller prepared and presented Torrez with a SAR Flag Certificate for honoring the flag. Members of the Phoenix SAR Chapter are shown below presenting the flag certificate. Compatriots Greg Saenz, Jerry Davis, Barry Welch and Steve Miller presented John and Kathleen Torrez the flag certificate in the
lower photo.
Flag certificates are a wonderful way for SAR Chapters to honor their neighbors for proper flag etiquette. As Compatriot Davis stated it helps show pride and passes that pride to neighbors and families.
