Congratulations to all that participated and promoted these programs both at the state and chapter levels. It was a lot of getting up for photos but I had a front row seat.
For Society awards and recognition our candidates received participation recognition. The JROTC Cadet Peyton A. Pierce received 5th place out of 26 entries.
Many of our Compatriots received the Liberty Medal for signing 10 or more first line for new applications. They are as follows:
Compatriots Steven Monez, Andrew K. Simmons, Keegan R. Wick received medals. Jimmie L. Bodenhamer, Stephen J. Miller (2) George Stickney received Oak leaf Clusters.
These recognitions will be given out at the November 20th BOM Meeting.
At the general session one important change was made to application fees. They will increase in most cases $20.00 except for supplements which will increase $40. Our State Secretary Rob Berryman has made all chapters aware of this change which took place as of 15 July. There will be a grandfather clause for applications signed before July 15th and were in the system.
We now have a new President General Davis L. Wright, Esq. from the Delaware Society and recent Secretary General. Also our new Vice President General is Wayne Snodgrass from the Colorado Society.
Mark your calendar for the Nov. 20th Arizona State BOM in Casa Grande where VPG Wayne Snodgrass will visit us and bring greetings.
President General Davis will attend our Arizona Society Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 13, 2022. So please add this date to your calendar. This is a great opportunity to have your new members inducted by the PG. It will be an exciting time.
My last comment is recognizing the Banquet Speaker Marine Brigadier General James Mattis who served as the 26th Secretary of Defense. A great speaker, and three times he mentioned the SAR as a great supporter of freedom but mentioned he was not eligible to join. At the end of his presentation PG Manning presented him with a membership certificate and inducted him into SAR. The National Genies found a line for him that he was not aware of. He really appreciated the honor.
I attended the following session on behalf of the Arizona Society:
—Host Reception Flight Museum —Color Guard Breakfast Continued on page 3...
