Message from
VPG Rocky Mountain District Wayne Snodgrass
Rocky Mountain District Compatriots:
It is my honor and
pleasure to serve as the VPG for
our district for the year
2021-2022. This year could be
considered as a "restart" for our
Arizona, Colorado, and New
Mexico Societies for two reasons:
1. Hopefully, the COVID
Pandemic will subside enough to
allow our States to resume our
local outreach patriotic,
historical, and educational
activities.
2. Our President General Davis Wright has focused the SAR organization outreach activities over the next five years to promote the National 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution; and also, our SAR efforts towards the support and completion of the SAR Education Center and Museum by 2026. Please see the current issue of the SAR Magazine for more details.
We had our first Rocky Mountain District Meeting via Zoom on August 28th with the Presidents and Vice Presidents from each State to discuss the PG's priorities and some actions we could consider in the near future.
The Arizona Society President Bill Baran has assigned Steve Monez as the Arizona 250th Anniversary Chairman, who will coordinate the activities with the Arizona Chapters, the District State Societies and the National 250th Anniversary Committee. We are encouraged to work with our other Revolutionary Period hereditary Societies (DAR, C.A.R., SR, SOC) in our local areas as opportunities arise.
I look forward to my visit to Arizona November 20th at the State BOM, and working with Bill Baran, Steve Monez, and the other Arizona Compatriots.
Patriotically,
Wayne Snodgrass,
VPG Rocky Mountain District
