Early 2022 J/ROTC
and Sea Cadet’s
Awards Status
As we enter 2022 our J/ROTC/ Sea Cadet awards programs enter full speed. Over the last two weeks I have talked to several JROTC units in three different school districts and all intend a return to traditional face-to-face award ceremonies this year and have their school board permission to do so.
Of course, during this pandemic we’ve seen state, county and city mandates change, school board direction and even school principals add, drop and change restrictions with surprising fluidity. These migrating policies and dissimilar permissions puts our award programs in a reactive, vice proactive position. Hence, what will actually happen with our presentations is to be seen, but for now, all appears on track for a traditional J/ROTC awards year. From what I have been able to determine, our Sea Cadet unit’s have still not returned to normal operations. Please contact your applicable unit to get their latest status for 2022.
Chapter J/ROTC awards managers, if you have not done so already, your J/ROTC units must be notified immediately about our Outstanding Cadet Award Program, Bronze JROTC and Silver ROTC Medal Awards. These units need about two months to prepare their cadet’s submissions for award selection and competition. As school award ceremonies and our State OC Cadet Scoring Conferences start in early April, it is imperative our schools get the time to prepare quality award packages.
If you have any problems or questions, please feel free to email or call. Always available to help.
