Leafhoppers are perhaps best known for the
damage they do to corn crops. They seldom
exceed 1 cm (0.39 inches) in size, and are the
same today as they were 100 million years
ago. The 100-million-year-old fossil leafhop-
per shown above is proof that these living
things have never changed.
