According to the Qur'an, when a
Muslim drinks alcohol, he will be
committing a sin, but he will not di-
vorce himself from Islam and he will
not be an unbeliever. That person can
repent for his sin. God has always
shown people the way for redemp-
tion. However, in the non-Qur'anic Is-
lamic understanding, there is no rea-
son to make an effort to win people.
On the contrary, that mentality seeks
to punish and oppress people.
IN THE QUR'ANIC ISLAM, THERE
IS NO COMMANDMENT THAT
SAYS PEOPLE WHO DRINK
ALCOHOL SHOULD BE KILLED.
