basis of the false hadiths produced by the fanatics is unaccept-
able in Islam. The guide of true Muslims is the Qur'an, and the
Qur'an pronounces as follows on the Torah and the Gospel:

Say, "We have faith in God and what has been sent down to us
and what was sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and
Jacob and the Tribes, and what Moses and Jesus were given, and
what all the prophets were given by their Lord. We do not differ-
entiate between any of them. We are Muslims submitted to Him."
(Qur'an, 2:136)

We sent down the Torah containing guidance and light, and the
prophets who had submitted themselves gave judgment by it for
the Jews – as did their scholars and their rabbis – by what they
