According to some
records, after
Solomon’s Temple
was destroyed, the
only wall of the tem-
ple that remained was
turned into the
"Wailing Wall" by the
Jews. After conquer-
ing Jerusalem during
the seventh century,
the Muslims built the
Mosque of ‘Umar and
the Dome of the Rock
where the temple
once stood. Jerusalem
still retains this. In the
