approximately one-third of the insect classes. They derive their
name from their two pairs of wings. The front wings are hard and
contain chitin, which makes them like protective
shields. They also help maintain balance during
diving and flight. The rear wings provide flight.
After completing its flight, a Coleoptera insect
closes its wings, with the hind wings beneath

the front ones. The way the protective front
wings cover the rear ones is a separate
marvel of engineering. Thanks to their
ability to fold their wings in this
manner, they can enter even the
                                                          smallest holes, without
                                                              harming their flight

                                                              wings in any way.
