deep-rooted and more difficult to destroy. Fascism in power had one key instru-
mentality: the State. Hindutva has two: the State, and the RSS as the “skeleton”
(and soul) around which the anatomy of the “new India” is to be built. The ulti-
mate defeat or retreat of fascism from state power signalled its dissolution. This is
not so for the Sangh.” 91

As Vanaik said, Sangh Parivar wants to establish the Hindutva ide-
ology on Indian soil or to put it differently, it is resolved to bring about
the rule of a dark Hindu fanaticism. To achieve this, they want to exter-
minate all non-Hindu minorities in India just like their ideological rela-
tives, the Nazis, made their country “Judenrein” (cleared of Jews). That
is why they have increased their oppression, terror, violence and other
efforts to subdue their primary target community, the Muslims, since the
1990’s. Following their ascension to power, they have continued their ac-
tivities with the financial and political backing of the state. The past ten
to fifteen years was marked by great sufferings, losses and deaths for the
Muslim community in India. Not even the events that drew the attention
of the global community suffice to understand this dark ideology pre-
vailing the section in question on the Indian subcontinent.
