THE MIRACLE OF MIGRATION IN ANIMALS

                 are thought to be light-sensitive. The sea is always more luminous
                 than the land, and these little creatures may be directed by this lumi-
                 nescence.
                     Once the hatchlings reach the sea, they begin a journey full of

                 risks. Some of them are devoured by crabs and birds on the beach.
                 From the minute they enter the water, some become a meal for fish or
                 sharks as they make their way through the shallows to the open sea.
                 After a few days of swimming non-stop, they rest and start feeding
