We always see the same side of the Moon since it

rotates both around itself and around the Earth every

twenty-nine days. Since the period of rotation in both

cases is the same, we always see the same face of the

            Moon.

When we look at the sky at night, the moon 99

sometimes appears as a circle and sometimes as a
                                             semicircle. As the Moon

                                             rotates around Earth, its

                                             illuminated face takes

                                             different shapes.

                                             There are also deep craters
                                             on Earth's surface. Having
                                             no atmosphere like Earth,
                                             the Moon is constantly
                                             struck by meteors.
