mit to the true religion because they perceived Pharaoh to be
all powerful due to his material wealth and sovereignty and
regarded him with awe inspired admiration. God reveals in
the Qur'an that very few people joined Moses in his religion
for fear of Pharaoh and his entourage:
No one believed in Moses except for a few of his
people out of fear that Pharaoh, and the elders,
would persecute them. Pharaoh was high and
mighty in the land. He was one of the profligate.
(Qur'an, 10: 83)
Those who join the dark clan make the mistake of think-
The true life is in the hereafter. All the wealth and power God gave to
Pharaoh was only a temporary decoration for his earthly life.
