Lemaître,

Einstein, was
a religious
scientist who
propounded
the Big Bang
theory that
points to the
creation of
the universe.
For Einstein,
who often
referred to his
belief in God in
his writings,
wonder at the
natural order in
the universe was
very important. In one of his writings he
mentioned, "In every true searcher of
Nature there is a kind of religious
reverence". 121 Elsewhere, he wrote:
Everyone who is seriously involved
in the pursuit of science becomes
convinced that a spirit is manifest in
the laws of the Universe – a spirit
vastly superior to that of man... In
this way the pursuit of science leads
to a religious feeling of a special sort... 122 George Lemaître
