The Bolsheviks addressed the ig-
norant masses with basic slogans,
adding many people to their
ranks in a short time through in-
tense propaganda. The poor and
uneducated were easily per-
suaded to believe the lies of
Communists who promised them
bread and a comfortable life. The
atheism fostered by Darwinism
hardened Communist propa-
ganda. This picture shows a
group of Russian workers and
peasants who became
Communists within a few days, as
a result of this propaganda.
