THE PEASANTS
The famine at the beginning of the
1920's resulted from the Bolsheviks
confiscating the peasants' crops.
Millions of people, including hundreds
of thousands of children, died in the
famine. Lenin told his comrades this
famine was very beneficial, because "it
would destroy faith in God".
