WHICH IS THE
OFFSPRING?
Although six weeks pass by, and
the offspring grows to be a few
times bigger than it was, the
nursing bird meticulously carries
out its maternal duty.
The first thing the cuckoo
offspring does when it pops
out of the egg is to throw
other eggs out of the nest.
Thus, the nursing parents will
feed only the young cuckoo.
