WINGED ANT
Age: 25 million years old
Location: Dominican Republic
Period: Oligocene
Winged ants have two long wings 5 to 8
millimeters (1.9 to 3.1 in) in length. They
build their nests close to sources of food
and water. These ants have remained
unchanged for millions of years.
The fossil ant in 25-million-year-old amber
shows that these insects have been
remained the same for millions of years, in
other words, they did not undergo
evolution.
