WINGED ANT, GALL GNAT
Age: 25 million years old
Location: Dominican Republic
Period: Oligocene
The gall gnat is a species of fly smaller than a mosquito. The
gall gnat fossilized here is 25 million years old. There is also a
fossil winged ant alongside it. Winged ants and gnats that
have remained unchanged for millions of years are among the
proofs that evolution never happened.
