Period: Oligocene
Like other fossils, those in amber show that
living things did not gradually descend from
one another, but have had exactly the same
characteristics for so long as they have
existed. The fact such fossils indicate is that
caterpillars have always existed as
caterpillars, and never underwent evolution.
