tail. Nothing can be hidden from our Lord, neither an action
performed openly nor one believed to have been carried out
in secret. This is indicated in the expression that all matters
"ascend to Allah."
Another verse describes the position of the believers
who made the hijrah (migration) with Prophet Muhammad
(may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and reveals:
… If anyone leaves his home, migrating to Allah and His
messenger, and death catches up with him, Allah will re-
ward him... (Surat an-Nisa’:100)
The phrase "migrating to Allah" indicates that our
Lord is not bound by space. These believers left their homes
and migrated, together with Prophet Muhammad (may

lievers' oppression. They did not, of course, migrate to
Allah in the sense bounded by time and space in which we
think. Rather, this verse reveals that they left their homes in
the hope of Allah's mercy and compassion, and migrated to
a new home in obedience to the Prophet (may Allah bless
him and grant him peace). Abraham's (pbuh) words: "I am
going towards my Lord; He will be my guide" (Surat as-
Saffat:99), indicates his own migration.
