sitive and successful in perceiving sensory data as are the eye and the
ear. However, as far as seeing and hearing are concerned, a far greater
truth lies beyond all this.
To Whom Does the Consciousness that
Sees and Hears within the Brain
Belong?
Who watches an alluring world in the brain, listens to symphonies
and the twittering of birds, and smells the rose?
The stimulations coming from a person's eyes, ears, and nose travel
to the brain as electro-chemical nerve impulses. In biology, physiology,
Light cannot pass through the skull. The
physical area in which the brain is lo-
cated is completely dark, and light
cannot possibly penetrate it.
However, incredible as it may seem,
it is possible to observe a bright
and colorful world in this total
darkness. Colorful natural beauty,
the brightness of the Sun, people
walking on a busy road are all cre-
ated in the dark brain. It is a pro-
found mystery that, in the
darkness of the brain, the electri-
cal signals turn into colorful,
bright visions. It is Allah, the
Creator of all things, Who shows
these images to our soul, Who per-
mits it to hear all sounds, and Who cre-
ates scents and tastes for it to take
pleasure from.
