T he image of itself China gives to the outside world is very different from
what actually goes on inside the country. Skyscrapers, modern roads and
luxurious workplaces are not enough to cover up the fact that some 100
million people are forced to work in inhuman conditions in the labor
camps, scavenge in refuse heaps because they do not have enough to eat,
or spend hours queuing for work.
