O man! What has
beguiled you from
your bountiful
Sustainer? Him
Who created you,
fashioned you in
due proportion, and
gave you a just
bias. In whatever

form He willed, He
put you together.
(Surat al-Infitar, 6-8)

Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)? Was
he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)? Then he became a clot;
then Allah made and fashioned him in due proportion. And made of him
a pair, the male and the female. (Surat al-Qiyama, 36-39)

The Arabic meaning of the word "clot" is "a thing that clings to some
place". The word is literally used to describe leeches that cling to a body
to suck blood. It is obviously the best word possible to describe the zygote
that clings to the wall of the uterus and absorbs its sustenance from it.
The Qur'an has more to disclose about the zygote.
Perfectly clinging to the uterus, the zygote starts to develop. The
