the very specific selections that take place. Certain rearrange-
ments are made in the gene sections that correspond to the ar-
eas where the antibodies contact the antigens. An enzyme
called activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AICDA) is re-
sponsible for this new arrangement. By changing the protein
sequences in the antigen-binding site of the Y shaped antibody,
it gives rise to countless variations. We can compare the activity
of this enzyme to a very skilled locksmith that makes deliberate
changes in the teeth of the key so that it can open different types
of locks.
Notice that this process has nothing to do with the ‘elusive
beneficial mutations’ that evolutionists claim exist. There are
