Believers' Placing Their Hopes in God
TORAH: Let your hope be in the Lord; be strong and take
heart and wait for the Lord. (Psalms, 27:14)
No one whose hope is in You will ever be put to shame...
Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me
in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and
my hope is in You all day long. (Psalms, 25:3-5)
QURAN: Say: 'My servants, you who have transgressed
against yourselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah.'
(Surat az-Zumar, 53)
What of him who spends the night hours in prayer, pros-
trating and standing up, mindful of the Hereafter, hoping
for the mercy of his Lord? Say: 'Are they the same – those
who know and those who do not know?' It is only people of
intelligence who pay heed. (Surat az-Zumar, 9)
He is the Creator of Ears and Eyes
TORAH: Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has
made them both. (Proverbs, 20:12)
QURAN: It is He Who has created hearing, sight and hearts
for you. What little thanks you show! (Surat Al-Muminun, 78)
