WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH















                     by fire and eat it prepared without yeast beside the altar, for
                     it is most holy." (Leviticus, 10:12)

                     Along with his fellowship offering of thanksgiving he is to
                     present an offering with cakes of bread made with yeast.
                     (Leviticus, 7:13)


                     Grapes and grape molasses:


                      Narrated from Ibn Omar: They asked, "What is grape
                      essence?" "Drink," he (the Prophet Muhammad [may God
                      bless him and grant him peace]) said. "That is what they

                      call the essence: They boil the must, two out of three parts
                      disappear, and one part remains." 49
                      Ibn Zayd relates: "The blessed Prophet (may God bless him

                      and grant him peace) loved grapes and melon among
                      fruits." 50


                                          If you follow My decrees and are careful
                                            to obey My commands, I will send you
                                            rain in its season, and the ground will
                                             yield its crops and the trees of the
                                             field their fruit. Your threshing will
                                              continue until grape harvest and
                                               the grape harvest will continue
                                                   until planting, and you will
