quite clear that had he thought that the sub ject need -
ed to be con cealed, or if he thought there was no need
to read about it, he would not have includ ed all these
state ments in the trea tis es.
Bediuzzaman made the mat ter pub lic with his state -
ments, and open ly stat ed that it was not a prob lem
need ing to be con cealed. Indeed, the fact that the trea -
tis es have been read by mil lions of peo ple over many
years clear ly dem on strates that it is a sub ject placed
in the open, rath er than hid den.
The Treatise of Light is a most val u a ble col lec tion of
works in which Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, the reviv er
(mujad did) of the last cen tu ry, expressed the truths
emerg ing from his heart and tongue.
Bediuzzaman open ly stat ed that he was not the Mahdi
(Emirdağ Addendum, p. 266),
That the Mahdi would come a cen tu ry after him
(Kastamonu Addendum, p. 57),
That he was a pri vate sol dier and mem ber of the van -
guard of the Mahdi (Barla Addendum, p. 162),
That he had pre pared the way for the Mahdi with his
books and work (The Seal of Affirmation of Hidden
