Following a later agreement, Israel withdrew from the Sinai
Peninsula. However, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Golan
Heights, and Jerusalem remain under Israel occupation.
During these wars, many Egyptians were taken as prisoners of
war and many others were killed.
