The competent authorities to which Jesus
(pbuh) was supposedly taken are described
differently:
In the Gospels of Mark 14:53, Matthew 26:57 and Luke 22:54, the
competent authority to which Jesus was taken is described as
Caiaphas, the high priest. But in the Gospel of John it is Annas, the fa-
ther-in-law of Caiaphas.
They took Jesus to the high priest...(Mark 14:53)
Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas, the high priest...
(Matthew 26:57)
Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the
high priest. Peter followed at a distance. (Luke 22:54)
