A tribute to my grandmother
This is so difficult for me to write… grandma, I will miss you terribly. You were one special lady and your loss is felt deeply by
many. For the past few months, you bravely fought through heart attack and illness due to ageing. And seeing you suffer in
those last hours was extremely difficult.
The love of a grandma is unique. God must have given grandmothers to us to liven up our lives,
to make our lives more complete, to make us well rounded and better human beings. Grandma,
you played a big part in my childhood and I can remember so many times sitting in your kitchen
and tasting the dishes, you prepare with special love. You taught me a lot about love and the
meaning of family. You were never just ‘my grandmother’, but my guardian, my friend and my
inspiration.
Still, I can’t believe my lovely Grandma has been taken away from us. We will all miss you,
grandma, but your spirit and strength, lives on in each of us and in the lives that you touched.
You live on in me and in all those who have been touched by the love, strength, conviction,
wisdom, and beauty of your soul.
Love you grandma – you were truly a special, special woman! You may have passed on, but your memories will always live on
within us. Thank you for your sacrifices, your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for me. Wherever
you are, I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my ‘grandmother’
Rest in Peace grandmother. We will never forget you and we will always love you
forever…
