• Implement an integrated set of policies that address expectations and requirements for adults and students regarding
ethics, harassment, discrimination, hate speech and other disciplinary issues.
• Implement and embed restorative justice principles and practices in all aspects of school life. Restorative justice is a framework used to heal a community that has been harmed by destructive behavior.
Build an Infrastructure that Reinforces a DEIB and Anti-Racism Mindset
• Evaluate all Laurel practices, processes and policies through an Anti-Racist, anti-bias lens.
• Develop a dashboard with metrics that track academic performance, disciplinary and enrollment data to inform decision-making.
Promote a Faculty and Staff Culture that Upholds, Attracts and Reflects Diversity in all its Forms
• Develop a comprehensive professional development plan for leadership, faculty and staff that includes:
m Athree-yearintensivelearninganddevelopmentplan.
m Onboardingwithacceleratedtrainingfornewhires.
m Ongoing,continuouslearningforleadership,facultyandstaff.
• Recruit and retain trustees, leadership, faculty and staff who will accelerate and amplify advancement of DEIB and Anti-Racist goals.
• Foster faculty and staff engagement and connectedness.
• Update the evaluation process for leadership, faculty and staff to include competencies, objectives and behaviors that support Anti-Racist, anti-bias teaching, leading and engaging students, and each other.
