Petrolia North Enniskillen Fire Department hosted Jr. Fire ghter camps again this summer
The six teenaged girls dressed in yellow rst seemed a li le hesitant, but with a smash of a gloved hand against a car window, the group was ready to demolish a car in the parking lot of the Petrolia North Enniskillen Fire Department. Riane McEachern, Faith Hudson, Michayla Mevis, Alyssa Marks, Jade Dwyer and Sivana Stec were all part of an all girls Junior re ghter camp. They were given a taste of re gh ng, learning some of the basics of re gh ng and what it was like to nd their way through a cloud of smoke. And on July 21, they learned the basics of auto extrac on. The teens under the watchful eyes of trainers Max Campbell, Sam Poier, Cpt. Je Steadman, Fire ghter Sara Stankevich and Public Educator Hilaire Hudson were able to break car windows, puncture res, use glass and metal cu ers as the Ford was taken apart piece by piece. The all-girl camp was one of three run by the Petrolia North Enniskillen depart- ment.
