It’s always important to take care of those nagging
aches and pains that keep us from fully experiencing
our lives, but it’s never more apparent than in the spring
and summer when the world beckons us to be active and
outdoors. Sometimes, problems happen gradually, and
before we know it we have trouble sitting through long car
rides, or we’re grimacing when we get out of bed every day. Other
times, it happens all at once—you’re fine one second and in agony the
next. But however injuries occur, we can help you get ahead of them, so you’re not held back or left operating at half speed.
This issue’s featured patient, Kristen Yonkman, was initially afraid to get treatment. As a personal trainer and a mother of two young kids, she worried that a doctor would tell her she couldn’t continue the career she loved or be as active as she wanted to be because her back just simply wouldn’t allow it. Instead, the doctors at Performance worked with her—within her parameters and comfort zone—to create a treatment plan that got her back to 100 percent.
We ask a lot of our bodies, and sometimes we need to give a little back, to fine tune, to nurse back to health, so we can continue doing all the things we love. This spring and summer, we want you to be as active as you can and enjoy all the region has to offer with your families. Have a safe and healthy season.
