THE WORLDWIDE EBB

F

act: New Jersey is an export powerhouse.

First, there’s the juxtaposition of our Garden State, ideally located along

the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, allowing ships from across the globe to dock
in our ports and take our goods and products to every corner of the world.

Our rail and highway system also make transporting these goods from across
our state easy and accessible, which allows for mass industrial parks for stor-

age and shipping. We are perfectly positioned between New York and Philadelphia,
and Boston and Washington, D.C.; all of these cities play a signiicant role in the suc-

cess of our exporting.
But exporting is more than raw goods and materials. We have been promoting

companies that have a niche product.

With the perfect combination of location, education,
and opportunity, New Jersey’s gross domestic product (GDP) ranks 7th in the nation; New Jersey

boasts the 25th-largest economy in the world.
On Sept. 10, the MIDJersey Center for Economic Development (MIDCED) and the MIDJersey

Chamber are pleased to ofer the International Business Opportunities Conference, bringing together
state and national igures and industry experts to discuss exporting. Our keynote presenters are John

Crowley—an American biotechnology executive, entrepreneur, and founder of several biotech compa-
nies devoted to curing genetic diseases—and State Senate President Stephen Sweeney.

This conference will not only reiterate the power of New Jersey’s economy, but will also illustrate the
untapped potential of our global market with the inclusion of local, regional, and state-wide companies.
