Thesis statement process
A thesis statement clearly identifies and covers the topic
what is being discussed, showing a comment of the writer
about his position; and is writing for an especific audience in
one or two long sentences that usually appears at the end
of the introduction. It is developed from the point of view of
the readers, asking the necessary question, will the readers
have any reason to care about what its writing?.
It should tells the readers
what the paper is about and
also helps guide the writing
and keeps the argument
focused throughout specific
characteristics of concise,
disputable, and coherent.
The function is to sums up
the main point of the paper
by using three steps: topic,
position and evidence. A
thesis statement starts mentioning the topic the writer
prefers, showing the tentative answer of the research
question or an argument, in the way the writer keeps
researching to discover more evidences and sources, and
finally summarize the evidence that will be use to support it.
Thesis statement is powerful in two fronts, first, it allows the
reader to get engaged and excited about what, specifically,
is coming their way; second, it stands as the point of
reference of the entire paper. That is the importance to be
specific once starts its developing.
