He returned to England at the end of the war and a report in the
local press says:-
“Repatriated prisoners – All the boys have returned safely, and all look
remarkably well, with the exception of Private Tom Dixon. Private
Dixon says he had a terrible time – bad food and serious illness. He
says he never expected to see old England again.”
He died in Newton Abbot, Devon in September 1962.
