The Moment a Name Outgrows You
For most of my life, my name has reflected
where I was on my journey — sometimes
unconsciously, sometimes with clear intention.
I was born Brandi Lei Hurst, and in my mid-
twenties briefly became Brandi Lei Wynn,
believing that’s what women did after marriage.
That experience taught me how powerful — and
personal — a name really is. Within a year, I
returned to Hurst, realizing that reclaiming it
was part of reclaiming myself.
Years later, when I married again, I chose to
hyphenate. Hurst-Rossbach felt like a
conscious blending — a partnership that
honored my past while stepping into a shared
future. That name has carried me through more
than a decade of growth, stability, and creative
expansion. Yet recently, I’ve felt that the
“Hurst” period of my life had completed its
purpose. I’m now preparing to release it as a
natural evolution of my soul identity.
Interestingly, when I launched my business, I
chose to brand it simply as Brandi Lei, my first
and middle name. In numerology, that vibration
adds to 11, a master number representing
intuition, illumination, and spiritual service —
all qualities I want to embody in my work. In
many ways, that business name became a
bridge between who I’ve been and who I’m
becoming, and allowing each vibration to serve
its purpose and gracefully give way to the next.
