wins a race here in the U.S. she will have an interesting story to tell. “I will cry like a baby because it means so much to me.” she shared. Her race goal is to win an NHRA world championship, and be- come a professional top fuel driver.
On a personal note, her favorite hobby has always been everything that goes fast so when she grew up she had a motorcycle. “I competed in go kart, for- mula basic and drag racing. When I’m not racing I love going to the gym es- pecially if it is with my trainer. You will also find me in the ocean either paddle boarding, swimming, surfing or on a boat.”
Her favorite food is pizza and Norwegian sour candy. And believe it or not, she believes she lives at her fa- vorite vacation destination. “California has always been my family’s top vaca- tion destination. We have been going here since I was little. Moving here was definitely not a hard decision to make.”
Julie just received her work visa, so right now she is looking for a part time job or a flexible enough job that will work with her race schedule.
When she was still in college, her class-
mates thought it was
awesome that she is
a racecar driver and
that she wants to
pursue this as her
career. “They are
always interested
in hearing how my
weekend has been
going, if something
new has happened
and ask all kinds of
questions about the
cars. My teachers are
also really supportive
of my career. They
have been hearing
me talking about be-
coming an NHRA
driver ever since I
started my bachelor
degree program, and
when it happened they weren’t any less excited than me. I think they are more im- pressed that I can handle school and racing at the same time. I don’t think they were ever worried when I was away a couple of weeks.”
As we mentioned, Julie’s long- term goal for her job/career is to be a pro- fessional NHRA Top Fuel dragster driver and win championships. We have no doubt that is going to happen.
