Sara Houston is eighteen years old and is an only child. She is a fresh- man at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She loves to go to the gym and hike. Her favorite food is Italian.
ing sports and performance psychology. Some day she would like to work with other racecar drivers as their sports psy- chologist and help them break through any mental blocks that they may be
facing in order to perform their very best. All of her pro- fessors and peers are always shocked that a girl like Sara races a car like she does.
Sara’s long term plan (at least what she thinks it is for now) is to finish
college and get her degree in sports and performance
psychology and
possibly move to
North Carolina to get a job with a race team as well as continue racing herself.
When Sara is not racing, she really loves being in the gym. “It is always a great way to help relieve any stress that I may be facing with my school work and I just loving that feeling of a good
workout.” she said.
If we made a movie of her life,
Sara would want either Jennifer Aniston or Blake Lively to play her. She loves all movies that both of those actresses are in and she also never hears many bad things about them outside of their mov- ies.
Sara does not have a favorite race car driver, and she likes many driv- ers for different reasons.
When Sara was 7 years old, her dad helped get her into go-kart racing
and she never wanted to get out of her go-kart. This started her passion for racing and she has been hooked ever since.
“I also met my boyfriend (Jake Boyle) in racing when we were eight years old. We started dating when I was twelve years old and we have been dat- ing for six years. We have moved to big- ger cars together and love racing against each other. I have now been racing for a little over ten years and I hope I am able to race throughout my entire life as I have such a strong passion for it.” she shared.
Sara’s most memorable mo- ments in racing are the wins she has enjoyed. “Nothing beats that feeling
The most interesting place she has visit- ed is Spain. Her favorite vacation spots would be Colorado and Maui because both are extremely pretty. One saying that she lives by is “Everything happens for a reason.” It is something her mom always told her when she was younger and she truly believes it.
As a kid, she played with both dolls and cars, but her go to toys would always be the cars.
Sara’s favorite TV shows are The Office and Friends because they are so silly and can always make her laugh. Christmas is her favorite holiday because everything is decorated cute, there are so many themed holiday gath- erings and she gets to be surrounded by her loving family. She also loves break- ing out those ugly Christmas sweaters.
Sara is pretty much an open book, but most people don’t know that she is an only child and has a really close relationship with her family.
Sara has been working since she was 15. She works the front desk at Mountainside Fitness, which is a gym in her hometown. Her co-workers think it is great that she races but they also say that they never would have guessed she does.
Sara is currently in her freshman year at Grand Canyon University, study-

of a win that you worked so hard for. I also really like the memories of my dad working with me at the race tracks to help make me faster and my mom always being around to support.” said Sara.
Sara’s main marketing partner is BRW Truck and Fleet Repair. They help her out a lot and she is very grate- ful to be working with them. They fix everything from cars to big diesel trucks. Also, a store in Arizona called The Helmet Center has sponsored her
