Brighton to London

        Or going the other way

Brighton to London Direct. Route 1 on the map. Straight up the M23 and A23. Boring!!

Via Royal Tunbridge Wells. Route 2 on the map. A much more interesting route.

Side Trips: The Green line on the map. There are several optional side trips on the Royal
Tunbridge Wells route – to Chartwell, Hever or Penshurst Place.

        Highlights along the way:

 Chartwell – the family home of Sir Winston Churchill
 Hever Castle – the family home of Anne Boleyn, the ill-starred wife of Henry VIII.
 Penshurst Place – described as “the grandest and most perfectly preserved example of a
fortified manor house in all England”.

If you take the slightly longer route going one way you can then scamper back to London via
        option 1.

The round trip can be done in a day, but why not stop over in Brighton for the night and really get
        the most from your trip?
