THE ENEMY IN-A-ME
tombs. Satan's rst method of attack is to divide and conquer. He wants to
move you away from your family, community and ministry. He will do
anything in his power to convince you to breakaway. He can conquer you
easily once you are divided. Jesus said; “That a house divided against itself
cannot stand.” [Matthew 12:25] He starts this by teaching you subtle things, like
you are exceptional. Because if he can get you to believe that you have an
exceptional problem, and exceptional situation, and an exceptional
childhood, then what he's doing is given you a reason not to be delivered.
And you come up with all kinds of excuses and say, I would be delivered but,
I have a problem. Nobody understands what I've been through. They don't
know what happened to me. And all the enemy has done, is given you a
reason to fail, a reason to be weak, a reason to lay in the cesspool of sin, a
reason that opens you up to be used by the enemy.
You see the enemy is so subtle and crafty, remember how the serpent
solicited Adam and Eve to join in his never ending rebellion against God in
the Garden of Eden? [Genesis 3]
First he created doubt—”Has God indeed said…?
Then he accused God of lying—”you will not surely die…”
Finally he accused God of withholding good things from His creatures—”For
God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will
be like God…”
You and what you are going through is not exceptional. You have never
been tempted to sin in any different way than other people. God is faithful.
He will not allow you to be tempted with more than you can take. But when
you are tempted, He will make a way for you to keep from falling into sin.
[1Corinthians 10:13] What needs to happen is for you to get rid of your excuses.
The excuses you use when you want to do something and don't want
anyone to tell you, you can't do it. You say things like, ‘I wouldn't be like this
if it weren't for this or that, or you, or the way you treated me, or if you were a
better wife, or if I had a better job or if my father had raised me, or if my
mother had not given me away, or if I had not faced so much opposition,
then I wouldn't
