Ranfurly House was built in 1903 as a Veterans Home and socialise. It needed to be comfortable, light and open
originally and is located in Mt Albert in Auckland. Generus with a connection to the outdoor spaces. The style was
Group worked with ASC Architects and Sumich Chaplin developed to create a graceful elegant attachment to the
Architects to reinvigorate this beautiful heritage building existing heritage building but still feel clean and modern-
and give it a new life. rather like a renovation you might find in an Auckland villa.
Studio Design + Architecture were brought in to plan
and design the interiors of the original building and the
extension. Central to the village, it is one of Auckland’s
oldest buildings and forms the centrepiece of the village’s
community facilities. It includes a library, cafe, hobbies and
crafts room, hair salon, wellness centre, bar, restaurant and
cinema.
