It’s important to recognize that everyone may not be experiencing exactly what you are, but they are experiencing something. Ask questions to understand another’s perspective. Try to lead your interactions with the benefit of the doubt, assume the best intention from others rather than jumping to conclusions. If empathy is impossible in the moment, at the very least acknowledge what is happening as a way of connecting and showing support.
