victim or see the gifts that helped us move closer

toward our dream? We all have our share of
misfortunes, our stories. Jack taught me: E (event) +

R (our response) = O (outcome). We control our

responses. Realizing that our struggles make us more
like everyone else than “all alone,” we can support

each other in making wise choices.

stories, I can more easily recognize hope and
