Using

your

trunk

is a very tricky business.

Just like human babies needing to learn to walk, baby elephants need to learn to use their trunks. It will take
them at least six months just to master only the basic functions.

But with a trunk that has over 100 000 muscle strands, it will take them up to two years to be able to fully use
the trunk.
